It Has Arrived

A mere 22 days after it was ordered and paid for, Betty Clair's new bike has arrived. I just got back from going to pick it up. It's a shame that one or both of us will be working the next three days, though, and we won't be able to take the bikes out together. That will have to wait until Monday.


Don't you just love the color scheme she chose for her new toy. It definitely displays her taste. Color seemed to be her main consideration when choosing this bike (and the helmet).

Our problem now is finding a way to transport these things simultaneously. I bought a little gadget they had at the bike shop that bolts down to a block of wood you place in the back of a truck. It looks like it works well in the pictures. Let's just hope I can make it work, too. Ask me about that one later.

*Update: The DOW continued to plunge today, closing below 8,600 for the first time since 2003. Those are some pretty impressive numbers. Didn't Obama and McCain tell us this bailout needed to be passed to prevent this very thing? These guys have the exact same goofy ideas. Man, we've got some real winners to choose from this time around!
